Decreased Capital Expected by Venture Capitalists
By Stephen Mueller on 2009-01-15 08:28:55
The Washington State Venture Capitalists in the WTIA Survey identified that it is likely for venture capital to be far more scare in 2009. With the credit crunch in full force, and expectations for the economy to continue floundering, the Washington Technology Industry Association is not optimistic about 2009.
The WTIA cited multiple reasons for this problem including concern over capital availability, stagnation amongst the quality and quantity of available deals, and decreased hiring. These combined have caused skepticism about a successful 2009 year.
The WTIA was founded in 1984 and comprises over 1000 member companies and 100,000 employes.
