Do Universities Matter?

If you are looking for a job or want to start your own business, will going to a certain university raise your chances? No! It doesn't matter if you attend UNC, Yale, UT, Harvard, A&M or Duke, as long as you have a degree. If you are serious about getting a great job or making your own business, focus on gaining a degree and not focusing on getting loans and scholarships for an elite university.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation even found that 95.1 percent of entrepreneurs surveyed had an undergraduate university degree, while 47 percent had advanced degrees. The top 10 institutions accounted for only 19 percent of the sample, so get your degree and save your money for where it's needed most.
