Do You Need a Name Brancd VC?

So you're an entrepreneur with a new business and you just received multiple offers from VC firms - which firm should you choose? The quality of an individual partner making the offer matters a lot. When you go to a name brand VC firm, you may find toxic partners, while the lesser known firms have great partners. Smaller firms are more willing to work with you and want to keep their firm open so they tend to be happier people with better benefits, while the larger firms tend to be set in their ways.
Two situations where name brand firms might matter are: if you manage to raise money from a particular set of the top 5 or so firms, you are guaranteed to be able to raise money later at a higher valuation from other firms and giving you credibility when recruiting employees. This is especially important if you are a first-time entrepreneur whose company is at an early stage
