If you read on, a gentleman born back in 1949 traveled a great distance in life. He may have been born in California, but his heart belonged to Oregon. His love of family and friends meant a lot to him, but serving his state meant more. Ben Westlund, an entrepreneur who bought and sold ranches, bought a minor league baseball team, and then moved on to the big house. Only to be in the Oregon House of Representatives, and then move on even higher seats, The Senate. He was a man of many talents, a man who will be missed. A man who cannot be replaced.
