The entrepreneurship major can now count among it's growing profile of colleges Kansas State University. The major, which focuses on starting businesses, building business plans, and traditional business skills.
The major in entrepreneurship has begun slowly, graduating only 4 or 5 seniors this year. However, the new major has shown promise with as many as 30 degree candidates in the following year. The program has been described as "mentor-intense" and "time-intense" by Jeff Hornsby, director of the College of Business Administration. Because of this, their target number of entrants would be around 40 studnets within each class.
While there is not yet a minor in the program, Kansas State University intends to launch one as soon as the Fall of 2010. The programs (both minor and major) are not limited to business-minded students. The program hopes to facilitate creative management and resource usage among students from all disciplines.
