Frou Frou Flip Flops, aside from being fashionable and fun, are the brainchild of an eleven-year-old. Yes, that is right, Alice has made over two hundred pairs of the decorated flip flops since 2005 and, in the process, has donated over $2000 to numerous.
The young entrepreneur has most recently chosen to donate proceeds to a guide dog charity. The Southeastern Guide Dogs organization trains puppies to assist individuals with various disabilities. As you can imagine, while Alice is quite fond of dogs, they would be a headache for a home-turned-flip-flop-factory. Alice explains that her friends' dogs enjoy chewing on and hiding her flip flops one at a time.
In this season of giving, it is nice to see young entrepreneur's showing exactly what it means to create a business and use it for good. It also shows how that pro-charity, pro-community businesses tend to find success, even for entrepreneurs at such a young age. For more information, visit
