Lott's Namesake Building

In 2004, the University of Southern Mississippi decided to build a building to house several departments in it. They also decided to name it after hometown boy, Trent Lott who served as a former Senator up in Washington, D.C. The building will be named Trent Lott National Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship. After six years, and 28 million dollars later, it will officially be opened on Friday, March 5, 2010.
