Most Entrepreneurs of New Companies do not Expect Growth
By Jeff Almond on 2009-08-28 12:45:13
A new study released by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor reveals that while in the process of starting a business and running a business less than 42 months old, most entrepreneurs did not expect much company growth. A majority responded that they expected to generate no jobs or very few jobs, while only a few from the sample expected to create a large number of available positions. "Only some 7 percent of all start-up attempts expected to create 20 or more jobs," explained Erkko Autio, one of the authors of this report.
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor is comprised of a collection of academics across the globe, and its goal is to convey research based on a representative sample of adult age entrepreneurs.
