Rethinking the Ice Cooler

Anyone that has been camping or gone on road trips has suffered from the dreaded ice cooler. Warming drinks and soggy foods from the melted ice has ticked many of us off while others shrug it off and buy fast food and fresh ice for our drinks. When this happened to Canadian robotics lab technician Paul Lavallee, he vowed to rethink the ice cooler and solve this problem.
He created ice pack modules made from plastic walls that you can fill with filtered water and freeze that will fit snugly around common items such as a six-pack. Simply fill the top and bottom and freeze overnight, then place your items in the bottom, place the top on and hook them together; once the ice begins to melt, you also have drinkable ice cold water. There are different modules in his design, but they haven't reached the market yet as he needs an additional $150,000 to scale up its production equipment.
