The Second Annual SEBIO awards ceremony was held in Palm Beach, FL on the 5th of December. The purpose of the award is to recognize individuals and businesses that help grow the life sciences industry in the southeastern part of the United States.

- ViewRay Inc.: ViewRay's real-time magnetic resonance imaging guided radiation therapy device earned them a whopping $25 million in financing in January.
- Biolex Inc.: Series D financing of $60 million in October earned Biolex the SE "Deal of the Year"
- Serenex Inc.: Pfizer purchased a cancer treatment from Serenex.
- Rebeca Kaufman earned the leadership award for her role in the organization over the last 10 years.
