Through the years, many top perils for teen drivers have been simple things like: friends in the car, turning the radio station, bad weather and running late. Nowadays, teens are getting more involved with the technical side of life and there are new perils like ipods, sirius satellite and cell phones. So what is the new top peril for teens? Texting.
Texting is extremely popular among teens and during those few seconds where their eyes search for the right letter, vital mistakes are being made that can seriously harm them. Texting has caused multiple accidents to date and teens just don't see the danger; as a parent, you should find a way ban cell phone usage in the car or have a heart-to-heart talk with your child about the dangers. As many as 330,000 are injured and 2,600 die on our nation's roads each year from cell phone texting.
