I am a big fan of a balanced approach to Internet marketing. My success has been a direct result of consummate tracking using both PPC services and free advertising. Stephan Ducharme appears to be only a fan of free advertising and he makes some pretty fantastic claims according to my sources. It is reported that up to 20,000 prospects hit his site each day and that he spends next to nothing for this traffic.

What I am not seeing here is the conversion rate. How many sales does Mr. Ducharme make with all this non-targeted traffic? If the conversion rate is acceptable then he may be onto something you may want to duplicate, but take what he states at his website with a grain of salt when it comes to free advertising.

When I first got into Internet marketing it was months before I saw any sales from either free or PPC advertising services and I had a super firm managing my accounts with input from a nationally renowned mentor helping me tweak the advertising campaigns for over a year. You may be disappointed if you expect instant gratification from free advertising with no effort on your part.

So there is no big secret here. Stephan Ducharme suggests there is. Read his website and sales letter. You will learn many good things; just use a balanced approach for a more realistic outcome if you don’t want to set yourself up for a big letdown when it comes to free advertising.
