Just like your wealth of options for personal credit cards, the four major credit card companies offer business credit cards with many of the same kinds of bells and whistles. But how do you know which American Express, Discover, Mastercard/Visa business credit card is the best for you? Well, it’s always good to run through a checklist:

Check out the offers of the business credit cards in question. Are they in fact true business credit cards, or do they affect your personal credit as well? It’s always a good idea to avoid these kinds of offers, as they tend to damage your personal credit score.

Make sure that the interest rates are intuitive. When you get your Mastercard/Visa business credit card, you want to be sure that you are not going to suddenly be accosted with an unpleasant rate hike in the near future. Also, remember to be especially cautious of these types of pitfalls in the face of aggressive solicitation and offers that are too good to be true. Usually, the best offers on credit cards come from very solid, well-established companies that don’t need to resort to such tactics.

Try to be selective with rewards. Choose rewards that are going to benefit you or your business the most. Usually, any card that offers cashback rewards is going to be much better for you than a card that offers point-based rewards or other such offers; the money usually gets lost in the system and it is better to take the cash.

A good place to compare American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa business credit cards and other revolving credit offers is Newhorizon.org.
