Deborah Markley's Program Helps Spark Entrepreneurship

A program call "Energizing Entrepreneurs in the Tri-State Region: Taking Action in Your Community" was implemented in Iowa's most entrepreneurial city in 2004.
This program is designed to help spark entrepreneurial interest in the area and has been fueled by the outspoken efforts of many in the field. According to the Kaufman Foundation, more than 1/3 of job growth in America is due to new businesses.
The program seeks to find the passionate entrepreneurs in the community and help them by engaging the youth, providing systems that assist their efforts, help them celebrate their success, and encourage them to be patient through difficult times.
