LinkedIn Capitalizing on Slow Economy

The popular business social-networking site LinkedIn.com has seen quite a boost in traffic as employees are looking for new jobs. It seems that each individual business professional uses their LinkedIn profile to manage their "brand". In tough economic times, people are connecting more to others, updating their profiles more frequently, and making recommendations for other users. LinkedIn works as a fabulous recruiting tool, and provides prospecting employers a nice resumesque overview of their prospective employees. LinkedIn is rising to the challenge presented by increased users, they have revamped their website, developed a mobile search platform, and now have a Spanish and French version of their site. Aside from functional upgrades to make life easier for its users, LinkedIn has made a few notable executive changes. It hired former Yahoo exec Jeff Weiner to replace the departing Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang, and several other top dogs from Yahoo and Google.
