Michael Turner, who owned his first company at the age of 11, has recently been shortlisted for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2009. Turner, now 17, began building websites for small businesses at the age of 11. Today, he runs TurnKey IT Solutions, a helpdesk, web development and consultancy firm. His company aids clients all over the country, and turns over more than £60,000 a year. He began the company after quitting a college-level computing course, when we realized that the curriculum was three years out of date. Instead, he threw himself into his new venture, and now has a chance to win £10,000 and gain even more publicity for his company. He will compete against seven other nominees during the finals, at the Shell Livewire LIVE event at the company's headquarters in London on October 27th.
