The mantra coming out of Bangalore India's TiE Summit is using entrepreneurship both to spur on the economy and improve general quality of life. Focusing on the abilities of entrepreneurs as change-makers, CEO of Air Deccan Captain G R Gopinath said, "Entrepreneurs destabilize the status-quo. They create wealth and jobs for the country."
The summit hopes to discuss removing some of the risks associated with entrepreneurship among lower classes. Empowering the poor to pursue new business ventures may be the key in ultimately ending poverty.
Several entrepreneurial leaders have seconded this point, including Dr. Carl Schramm from the Kauffman Foundation, the largest Entrepreneurship Foundation in the world. Others, including leaders such as S Gopalakrishnan and Kiram Mazumdar-Shaw, have reemphasized the importance of allowing entrepreneurship to grow from all areas of society.
